I was wondering if anyone out there in Joeuser land had any insicder information on Civilization 4? I have read the reviews, but i am looking for some more in depth information. Does anyone have a firm launch date? I am defintely waiting in breathless anticipation.
Thanks,
JD

CivFanatics
has a section devoted to it already. They said 2005, so it mustn't be that long off. If they are on schedule someone somewhere is probably taking preorders.
The only thing I have seen that I am not crazy about are the funky borders. I assume the side that kind of fade back probably is a culture indicator or something.

We did have another thread on the subject going here somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it now!
I think the forum really needs some sort of search function.

apolyton also has a section where Locutus compiled everything in every review/interview one could find. The release date is not clear as you're always better not believing anyone but the publisher and they didn't make precise comments on that afaik.

EB Games has it listed for 11/14/05, although they say it hasn't been confirmed. But they do have 47 beautiful screenshots though.

Am I the only one that dislikes the hazy borders? I assume that which way the fade goes means something, but it just doesn't look as clean as the way they used to do it.

I read in an interview this past weekend that Civ IV is on target for a November 2005 release, so the EB Games listing is probably close to the mark.
